Letter from UK Power Networks - June Works in the Area
Boughton Malherbe Parish Council
Installation of electricity cables in Headcorn Road, Lenham
We run the electricity network delivering power to your area and connect and move power cables. We will shortly be installing a new electricity cable in Headcorn Road, Lenham, to provide a new connection to our electricity network.
In partnership with our contractor, Kier, work to dig a trench to install pipework (ducts) for new electricity cables is due to start from 11 June at the junction of Headcorn Road, High Street, and Station Approach. We aim to complete the project over three consecutive weekends:
11-13 June
18-20 June
25-27 June
A temporary closure will be necessary at the junction of Headcorn Road and High Street during these three weekends, meaning traffic cannot continue from High Street onto Headcorn Road or from Headcorn Road onto High Street. A diversion route will be in place via Headcorn Road, Lenham Road, Kings Road, Mill Bank, Maidstone Road, Sutton Road, Willington Street, Ashford Road, Faversham Road, and High Street. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We have worked closely with the local authority in planning these works and we are carrying out the work at the weekend to minimise the impact. We will be working extended hours from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Fridays and 7am to 7pm on Saturday and Sundays. Our work should not have any impact on your electricity supply and access to your property will be maintained at all times.
We will make every effort to minimise the impact on your area. If you have any questions please contact our contractor’s streetworks and stakeholder manager, Lindsey Eve on 0845 200 0214. Additionally, you can contact our customer care team on 0800 028 4587 or care@ukpowernetworks.co.uk.
